This week being the head volleyball coach took full effect! I've been at the high school the past 3 days almost all day long. For some of you I'm sure that doesn't sound like fun...but I'm loving it! As a part of the district summer school we run a volleyball camp. I've been working with the younger kids and it has been great! A teacher I work very closely with has a daughter attending the camp. She came to me in May and asked if she could watch Macayla during camp. When I questioned "are you sure???" she practically insisted. Our schedule the past couple of days:
- 8: 45 go to the YMCA (I workout, Macayla hangs out at kids corner)
- 10:45-12:30 go to the high school (I teach vball camp, Macayla hangs out at the pool with my friend while her younger children are in swimming lessons)
- 12:30-3:00 Macayla is brought back to me and we hang out during open gym or varsity volleyball league
Macayla has been great! What is nice is that summer school only lasts until July 3 and once that is over we will only have to be at the high school a couple afternoons a week. This week has just been hectic b/c it is the first week of camp, open gym and league. I have OUTSTANDING assistant coaches who share in the responsibility of supervision.
