Sleep

As most of you know when Macayla was born she lost more weight than she should have during that first week. The doctor then made us wake her up every 3 hours to feed her...even at night...to make sure she got enough food. Eventually I started doing 1, 4 hour, shift at night and then 2 and then 3. We went to the doctor last week and because she was gaining an appropriate amount of weight the doctor said we didn't have to wake her up at night. But he "warned" us that she still may wake up every 3-4 hours. The first 2 nights she slept about 5 hours at a time. Then we came up to Minocqua. The first night I slept in the same room as Macayla. I quickly discovered she is a VERY LOUD sleeper. Although she got sleep that night...I only got about 4 1/2 hours of sleep :(. The next 2 nights Macayla slept in Grandma and Grandpa's room because they felt that they are not as light of sleepers and figured they'd be able to sleep through all of her squeaks, moans and groans. They slept until she woke up for her middle of the night feeding and then she was so loud of a sleeper that she kept Grandma and Grandpa up the rest of the night.

After everyone left town (except Macayla and I) we had Macayla sleep back upstairs in the crib (she was in a pack-n-play in G & G's room). I slept across the hall in Melissa's room. The first night Macayla went to sleep around 10:30 and didn't start crying until 6:00! Then slept until 8:30. The next night again went to sleep around 10:30 and slept until 4:00...but then slept again until 8:30! Last night she went to sleep around 10:00 and slept until 6:30! And then again until 9:15! We definitely have a good sleeper :) And a much more rested mommy :).

FYI...Jason last week found out he had to travel to Indiana this week and would be gone from early Monday morning until really late on Wednesday. We decided that I would just stay in Minocqua after Easter and my Dad was going to take us back to Green Bay on Wednesday. Then Jason said he was going to take advantage of me being in Minocqua and get some more traveling out of the way...guilt free (meaning not having me at home calling and asking when he'd be home :)). Then Jason decided that he wanted to come back to Minocqua this weekend...so Macayla and I are now staying until Sunday. It has given my parents some quality Macayla time.
